Leopard on the lookout

We watched this leopard for over 3 hours in the hope he would come down the tree. The most he did was sit up and look alert occasionally. The light then faded and we had to return to camp.

Elephant Siblings

Elephant children. Three young elephant, probably siblings, eating some of the last remaining green grass. They always protect the smallest and keep them close by.

Elephant feed and drink by the Chobe river just as the sun begins to set.

African Wild Dog running

One of a large pack of wild dogs, with around 15 pups to look after. These dogs were ready to hunt just as the sun started to fade and the temperature cooled.

Zebra Stampede

Zebra separated from the main dazzle for no apparent reason, then started running like crazy. No predators were visible anywhere.

No way through

Zebra watching the hundreds of nesting Carmine Bee Eaters. He was reluctant to go through because the birds went mad when any zebra went near their nest.

Hippopotamus expressing his discomfort with our presence. He calmed down after a few minutes.

Burning Elephant Carcass

Vultures and Marabou Storks feasting on the burning carcass of an elephant. It is burned by the park rangers because they don't know why it died, so it protects against anthrax and other diseases.
